What a difference from all the lousy rain and wind we have been having recently.  I saw -4 on the way to the gym this morning. Yesterdays planned weights session didn't happen due to feeling completely knackered and also clients &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;resheduling&lt;/span&gt; their sessions so I never had the time. Not to worried about missing this training day but want to get back into it today. Thankfully I managed to eat well and a couple of Sci-&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Mx&lt;/span&gt; shakes kept me going through the day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today is a half marathon treadmill day.  I have my laptop ready and will watch a movie whilst running the 21k on the tread'. Whilst doing the run I will be drinking a mix of water and trying out Sci-&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Mx&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;Perfor&lt;/span&gt;-&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;mx&lt;/span&gt; extreme supplement. Last time I did this I used &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;lucozade&lt;/span&gt; sport and water mix but this should give me more energy throughout the run. This weekend was my sons 6&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; birthday so it was a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;whirlwind&lt;/span&gt; of go &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;karting&lt;/span&gt; with 20 loud kids, birthday cake, far to many presents, a new We the People &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;BMX&lt;/span&gt; (more for me than him) and no time to train. A steady 10k on the treadmill at work. Most of the training I'm going to be doing will be pretty steady trying to keep the heart rate in the low 130s - 140s. This week its all about 10k runs, everyday building up the miles. Next week 3 20 k runs plus some bike work as &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;I'm&lt;/span&gt; racing at &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Kona&lt;/span&gt; Mash Up at the weekend.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Todays&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; 10k took 48 &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;mins&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; 10secs and I felt fine the whole time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nutrition wise I have eaten well and supplemented with a Sci-&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Mx&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; Lean grow shake, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Tri&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; Omega and multi vitamin tablets.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sleep is vital when training and last night managed to get 7 hours quality sleep. All whilst raising a significant amount for the extremely worthwhile cause of Help for Heroes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what am I actually going to be doing? On Saturday 8&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; May 2010 I will start out in Bath and over the next 24 hours I will run the whole length of the Cotswold Way, past Chipping &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Sodbury&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Stroud&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;Painswick&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Cheltenham&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Winchcombe&lt;/span&gt;, Broadway and ultimately arriving in Chipping Cambden. All in all a distance of 102 miles (95% off road - so think mud, hills, stiles and unexpected nighttime &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;surprises&lt;/span&gt;), the equivalent of pretty much 4 marathons back to back!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Helping me in this challenge (because doing this on my own is just crazy) is Sci-&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;Mx&lt;/span&gt; who will be key in keeping me running. Their supplements, nutritional knowledge and advice are vital in enabling me to complete the run.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Over the next 5 or so months I will be using this blog to report on my training, eating, fitness and everything I learn! I imagine its going to be a steep curve... For now this weeks training is 10k everyday. Next week half marathons every other day.
